Family-Friendly Caravan Parks in Devon: What to Look For When Booking Your Holiday

When planning family holidays in Devon, choosing the right caravan park is one of the most important decisions. Families often look for a safe, welcoming environment with space to relax, suitable facilities, and a location that allows easy access to countryside and attractions. Understanding what makes a family-friendly caravan park in Devon can help ensure a stress-free and enjoyable break.

At Parkers Farm Holiday Park, families benefit from a calm, countryside setting combined with the reassurance of a family-run park near Ashburton.

What Makes a Caravan Park Truly Family-Friendly?

Not all caravan parks are designed with families in mind. A quality family caravan park in Devon should offer:

  • A peaceful layout with space between pitches
  • Clean, well-maintained facilities
  • A safe environment for children
  • A friendly, approachable atmosphere
  • A location close to family attractions and outdoor spaces

These qualities are explored in more detail in our guide to choosing a caravan park in Devon, which explains what separates quality holiday parks from overcrowded resorts.

Why a Family-Run Caravan Park Matters

One of the biggest advantages of staying at a family-run caravan park is the personal approach. At Parkers Farm Holiday Park, guests are welcomed into a setting where care, cleanliness, and comfort are prioritised. Families often prefer smaller, independent parks where children can enjoy the outdoors and parents can unwind.

This approach also supports a more relaxed pace, which many families value when spending time together.

Space, Location, and the Devon Countryside

Location plays a major role in family holidays. Staying at a caravan park near Ashburton allows families to enjoy countryside surroundings while remaining close to Dartmoor and South Devon attractions. For ideas on local activities and days out, our guide to things to do near Ashburton highlights how families can explore the area without long travel times.

Facilities That Support Family Comfort

A family-friendly holiday park should provide facilities that make everyday routines easy. Access to clean amenities and an on-site restaurant can reduce the need for constant travel, allowing families to enjoy more time together on the park. For families who enjoy outdoor stays, options for camping and touring in Devon are also an important consideration.

Is Parkers Farm Right for Your Family?

Parkers Farm Holiday Park is particularly suited to:

  • Families seeking a quieter Devon caravan park
  • Parents looking for a safe, countryside environment
  • Families who value personal service and space
  • Those wanting a central base near Ashburton and Dartmoor

Final Thoughts

Choosing a family-friendly caravan park in Devon is about more than facilities alone. It is about atmosphere, location, and the quality of the experience. Parkers Farm Holiday Park offers families a relaxed and welcoming base for enjoying Devon holidays at their own pace.

Excellent campsite with clean facilities and great showers. A well stocked shop. The pitch was excellent (hardstanding with electric and grass to pitch a gazebo). Good value. Great staff.

We came camping here, great site with lovely views. Everything you need on site, nice bar that serves great food, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The toilets are modern and clean, and no silly push buttons in the showers which is a big thumbs up. We will definitely return and highly recommend.
